History of Christian Science Nursing Keynote Address

Brad Stock will describe the history of Christian Science nursing in his keynote address during the 2024 Beacon Haven Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 2. Everyone is welcome to join the annual meeting in person or by using live video stream via Zoom or by phone for audio only.

Introducing Brad Stock

Brad is the administrator at Fern Lodge, a Christian Science nursing facility near San Francisco. From 2010-2022, Brad served as the Distinguished Professor of the History of the Christian Science Movement at Principia College, teaching courses on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, the history of the Christian Science movement, and the history of Christian Science nursing.

Prior to his faculty position at Principia, Brad was administrator at Glenmont, the Christian Science nursing facility in Ohio. He has also worked at The Mother Church in various capacities (The Christian Science Monitor, the Church History Department (archives), and the Board Office). Brad did his graduate work at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University) with a focus on leadership, strategy, ethics, and peace.

Brad has served as a special researcher for The Christian Science Board of Directors and managed the Mother Church Archives. He taught the History of the Christian Science Movement and Christian Science Nursing as a Distinguished professor at Principia College, and is currently the Administrator at Fern Lodge in Castro Valley, California.
