Beacon Haven is delighted to introduce Ester Sarmiento, our new Director of Christian Science Nursing.

Ester Sarmiento joined our staff last month, along with her husband, Len, who is also a Journal Listed Christian Science Nurse.

“I am pleased to have Ester and Len join our Christian Science nursing team,” said Bonnie Fanz, Beacon Haven Administrator.  “It is truly an answer to prayer to have two experienced Journal Listed Christian Science nurses (JLCSN) join our Beacon Haven family.  With the addition of Ester and Len, we remain prepared to meet local needs for Christian Science nursing care, including some visiting services.”

Ester began her training as a Christian Science nurse at Fern Lodge (CA) in 2008 and served as a JLCSN for more than ten years at Glenmont (OH) where she was a shift coordinator and a mentor.

Prior to joining Beacon Haven, Ester was a Co-Director of Christian Science Nursing at High Ridge House (NY).  Ester has also spent time caring for patients at Tenacre (NJ), Broadview (CA), and Redwood Community (CA).

“As I called Ester’s other references, I continued to receive similar comments regarding her Christian Science nursing ministry,” said Judy Olson, President, Beacon Haven Board of Trustees.

“During the interview process, we met a soft spoken, God-based Christian Science nurse who’s been in the field since 2009.  We look forward to having people in our local community meet Ester,” Judy added.

“We listened to God’s guidance and felt the need at Beacon Haven,” Ester explained about the decision she and her husband Len made.  “We were called here to do God’s work, to help our fellow man.  At Beacon Haven we really feel the healing and the warmth.”

“Christian Science nursing education and mentoring are very important to Ester,” said Bonnie Fanz.  “She is a great addition to our current team who is training the next generation of new Christian Science nurses here at Beacon Haven.”

“In our short time working together, I have seen how dedicated she is to the ministry of Christian Science nursing.  She is hard-working and kind and has a calming presence.  She is appreciated by both patients and staff alike.”

Judy Olson agreed with Bonnie, adding, “Our prayerful foundation throughout the hiring process has been ‘. . .whatever blesses one blesses all . . .’  We have all been blessed by this addition to our Beacon Haven family, a partnership in Christ.”
